It's Friday night, we just finished dinner, my daughter Cole and my husband mentioned I should keep my writings a little lighter, I am too serious. Generally I am pretty funny but when it comes to building a business I guess I have been focused on my thoughts. So, I decided to stop sounding so serious and start thinking and writing with a smile on my face. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL WITHOUT THE HELP OF A GRANDPARENT OR RICH UNCLE???? Is this funny enough? OK, I need all of my followers, (not many right now) to put their thinking caps on, send my URL to all of their friends and maybe this will work. I am working on trying to get pictures to post, but in the meantime, any suggestions you have I am willing accept. Let's go, I need help!!!!
Day 3. After having my daughter and husband review my posts I feel good about this. Realizing it is up to me to spread the word gives me a mission to launch our line and the drive to make it work. It is important to try, no cost and a good way of getting out there, I hope. I am always looking through fashion magazines, going to the stores and just observing what today's woman is wearing, there is no doubt our pieces are fabulous. Suggestions are welcomed and when this blog starts to take off it will be worth the agony. Branding: I am so sick of hearing, "we only want brands that we are sure of". Who can be sure of any brands? One day you fall in love with everything you see and then other times you think, "what was the designer thinking when they designed this"? I see unknown labels in the stores, was the buyer so sure it was a winner they bought it anyway or was the designer a relative of the department store CEO? Well, we have no connections, no CEO's but we are determined we will be on the "wanted" list of must-have labels. My partner is generous, patient, calm , never raises his voice, has a positive outlook and determined to keep creating. He is always impeccably dressed, most of what he wears he's made, even down to the tie. Me on the other hand, a strong personality (some call it aggressive), good business head, have a way with people, (not all people) and willing to jump in and help at any level and I love fashion; we make a good team. When we first started there were 3 of us, you know what they say about 3, it was tense. Now with just 2, it is easy, comfortable and more productive; I am happy. If we could get someone interested in buying we've accomplished what we've set out to do. Then there is the part of who is going to make the garments. We want to make them domestically, keep our economy going. Just like our company the US factories need to stay busy and we are confident we can help. When my blog takes off, I will be interested in comments. I plan to post pictures of the pieces and hope it draws attention.

Today is another day, I would love to see our company take off, my partner/designer gave me information based on the newest designs he created, all positive. The new pieces are so great, I love everything; young adult will truly flip for them. So how do we "brand" ourselves, how do we get them in the stores? The process is so slow, "if there is a guardian angel that could help out it would answer a lot of prayers". Cowl back reversible dresses and tops, a fabulous unusual design reversible halter dress, reversible coat; styles are so fabulous, if I were shopping, I would want every piece! The great thing about the reverses is you can't tell they are reversible. The fabric and designs are stitched together, there is no puckering, no thickness, just looks like a one sided piece; alone they worth buying but the great thing is they are 2 separate pieces. Who could ask for more? So, my dream is that this blog is successful, our name starts to be recognized and all of this works. I couldn't ask for a better partner, he is handsome, caring and one of the most creative people I know. We get along and his eye for beautiful clothes is quite unique; the qualities that make for a great partnership. You will agree with me and be happy to have him designing when Virginia Blacke is finally in the stores.

Since 2008 my business partner and I have been trying to get a company off the ground. He has created the most amazing fashions and with the present economy we haven't been able to get out the door. We have spent endless amounts of money making samples and traveling, causing hard feelings and ending relationships with people we've known for years. Now, with no money, no branding and both of us still trying to keep the fire burning, I thought of starting a blog. If anyone is reading this and this starts something, than it has worked.
